Egyptian Museum of Berlin
The Egyptian Museum of Berlin, part of the Neues Museum on Museum Island, holds one of the world's most important collections of Egyptian antiquities. Visitors can explore three themed areas: everyday life in the Nile valley, the veneration of pharaohs and gods, and beliefs about the afterlife. The collection spans from the Predynastic period (c. 4000 BC) to Roman rule, with particular emphasis on the era of Akhenaten (c. 1340 BC). Highlights include the exceptionally well-preserved and vividly coloured Bust of Nefertiti, as well as significant papyri such as the Westcar Papyrus. At least 23 Egyptian mummies and three decorated cult chapels from Old Kingdom mastabas are also on display.
