Exhibition building designed by Joseph Maria Olbrich and opened in 1898 as the home of the Vienna Secession group of artists. Its dome of golden laurel leaves is an emblem of the city, and above the entrance is the motto Der Zeit ihre Kunst, der Kunst ihre Freiheit. In the basement is the Beethoven Frieze painted by Gustav Klimt in 1902. It is next to the Naschmarkt.
