Vienna Secession
The Vienna Secession is a contemporary art exhibition building and a key monument of Viennese Jugendstil. Visitors can admire its iconic architecture, including the dome of 2,500 gilded laurel leaves and the inscription 'Der Zeit ihre Kunst. Der Kunst ihre Freiheit' ('To every age its art, to art its freedom'). Inside, the main attraction is Gustav Klimt's Beethoven Frieze, a 34-metre mural permanently displayed on the ground floor. The building also hosts temporary exhibitions of contemporary art in its upper galleries. Guided tours and audio guides are available to deepen understanding of the works. The space is accessible to visitors with reduced mobility via a lift.
