The Teatro Cervantes in Málaga is a historic performance venue opened in 1870, with 1,134 seats, and listed as a Site of Cultural Interest since 2005. Its interior features a stalls ceiling covered by a canvas painted in oils in 1870 by Bernardo Ferrándiz and collaborators, entitled Allegory of the History, Industry and Trade of Málaga. The building, the work of architect Gerónimo Cuervo, has a three-storey main façade with lintelled openings and stucco decoration. It is the main home of the Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra and of the Málaga Film Festival, and its programme covers opera, music, theatre and dance. Visitors can attend performances in a horseshoe-shaped auditorium with four tiers, or admire the building's heritage value.
