Hofburg Imperial Palace
The Hofburg Imperial Palace, located in the centre of Vienna, was the winter residence of the Habsburg dynasty and today houses the Sisi Museum and the Imperial Apartments, where visitors can walk through historic spaces inhabited by Austrian royalty for more than six hundred years. Within the complex is the Swiss Courtyard (Schweizerhof), which retains a 15th-century Gothic chapel, and the Imperial Treasury (Schatzkammer), where the imperial jewels of the Holy Roman Empire and the Austrian Empire are displayed. The palace also includes the Imperial Library, the Spanish Riding School and the Hofburg Chapel, where the Vienna Boys' Choir sings Mass on Sundays. In addition, the Hofburg hosts events such as concerts, balls and conventions at its congress centre, blending historic spaces with contemporary activities.
