At the Auteuil Greenhouses, visitors explore an extensive complex of historic glasshouses home to more than 6,000 plant species, including themed collections of succulents, palms, ficus, begonias and ferns, as well as plants from New Caledonia. Inside the palm house, visitors can see subtropical and tropical trees and shrubs, an impressive Canary Island palm beside a pond with Japanese carp, and an aviary with exotic birds. In the outdoor gardens, notable specimens include the Ginkgo biloba, the caramel tree, the Chinaberry tree, the windmill palm and the Southern magnolia, each with distinctive botanical features. The site also hosts temporary exhibitions on the art of topiary and other botanical themes.
