Plaza de las Flores
Plaza de las Flores is a pedestrianised square in Murcia's old town, in the San Pedro district, and is the city's main tapas and dining area. Around a central fountain are terraces of tapas bars, trees and wooden benches. It retains flower shops descended from the old flower stalls that gave it its name. It is flanked by eclectic 19th- and 20th-century buildings, notably the Tejidos Abad or Río de la Plata building, with bay windows and balconies full of plant pots, and the Librería Almela building, with wrought-iron balconies. In the background can be seen the side and the glazed-tile dome of the Church of San Pedro. The Corpus Christi parade and Holy Week processions pass through the square, which connects Plaza de San Pedro and Plaza de Santa Catalina.
