Port of Estepona
Estepona's port is both a marina and a fishing harbour. The marina has 483 berths: 36 belonging to the Real Club Náutico and 447 to Marinas del Mediterráneo, along with a nautical-style complex of restaurants and shops. The fishing side is still active, and fishing is one of the pillars of the local economy. The purse seiners, or traíñas, set out at dusk, fish through the night and arrive at dawn to sell in the morning at the fish market. The trawlers and the trammel net, handline and longline boats leave at dawn and return before sunset; their fish is auctioned in the afternoon, between 17:30 and 19:00. From the quay you can watch the daily work, and the port lies next to the seafront promenade and a few metres from the Punta Doncella lighthouse.
