Nikolaikirche (Nikolaiviertel)
CultureVisit: ~45 min
St Nicholas' Church is the oldest surviving church in central Berlin, dating from the 13th century, with Gothic brickwork and two twin towers. It was badly damaged in the Second World War and rebuilt in the GDR era, together with the medieval quarter around it. Today it works as a museum of the city's history and gives its name to the Nikolaiviertel, on the banks of the Spree.
