The Heeresgeschichtliches Museum is in the Arsenal complex, in Vienna's 3rd district (Ghegastraße). It brings together the collections of Austrian military history and organises the visit into several areas, including the Feldherrenhalle and temporary exhibitions. One of its most striking sections is the Panzerhalle, in Arsenal building 13, with more than thirty armoured vehicles covering everything from the earliest Austrian developments to the Second World War and today's armed forces. On show there are the Burstyn model, from the 1911 patent for an armoured motorised gun, alongside Kürassier tank destroyers, M60A3 tanks, a Saurer armoured personnel carrier prototype and sectioned models showing the interior of the vehicles. The ticket includes a downloadable audio guide, and at weekends there are guided tours for an extra charge.
