Deutsches Theater
The Deutsches Theater occupies a building on Schumannstraße, in Berlin's Mitte district, made up of two adjoining stages sharing a classical façade. Its main stage was built in 1850 and was originally intended for operetta. Throughout its history, the theatre has staged classic works and pieces of realist theatre, and in 1905 an acting school was founded and a chamber theatre built. In the 2026/27 season its programme includes productions such as Friedrich Schiller's Die Räuber, Friedrich Dürrenmatt's Die Physiker and Nikolai Gogol's Tagebuch eines Wahnsinnigen, spread across the DT Bühne main stage, the Kammer, the Box and the DT Kontext space.
