Historic gate built into Toledo's city wall, built from the 10th century and reworked with Mudéjar elements from the 13th century. In the Islamic period it served as one of the entrances to the city from the Vega. After the nearby Puerta de Bisagra was rebuilt it was closed and only opened on special occasions, until its restoration and reopening in 1905. Its type and proportions resemble those of the Puerta del Vado.
