At San Rafael Cemetery, visitors find a mausoleum in the shape of a large marble pyramid, where the remains of thousands of people executed during the Francoist repression rest in individual boxes, their names engraved on the stone as a tribute and act of memory. The site preserves the original wall where the executions took place, and numerous mass graves have been found on its grounds, considered the largest such site of the Spanish Civil War in the country. The former cemetery is currently being transformed into a memorial park and public space, with landscaped areas and paths running through the sites of historical memory.
