Görlitzer Park

The park covers 14 hectares in the Kreuzberg district and has a petting zoo, several sports and football pitches, and a small lake. At its centre is an orchard with apple, pear and greengage plum trees, and in the southern section there is a hill with a slide and an 80-metre toboggan run. On the west side of the central hollow, the former site of the railway tunnel, stands the 14-metre steel sculpture Schreitender Mensch (Striding Man) by Rüdiger Preisler. Remnants of the old Görlitzer Bahnhof survive, including sections of track, the pedestrian tunnel, the perimeter wall and three goods sheds.
