An Orthodox cathedral dedicated to the Annunciation of the Virgin, built between 1842 and 1862 in Mitropoleos Square, next to Ermou Street. It was built with marble from ancient buildings in ruins. Next to it is the small Byzantine church of Agios Eleftherios, from the 12th century, whose ancient reliefs contrast with the cathedral.
