Tsaritsyno
CultureVisit: ~180 min
Palace complex in southern Moscow that Catherine II commissioned in 1775 from Vasily Bazhenov, and which Matvey Kazakov later continued. It mixes red brick with white stone details in a Russian pseudo-Gothic style. It was left unfinished and in ruins for centuries, and was restored and opened as a museum in 2007. It is surrounded by a large park with ponds, bridges and pavilions.
