Tokyo Stadium
Tokyo Stadium was a baseball stadium that opened in 1962 in Arakawa, Tokyo, with a theoretical capacity of 35,000 spectators, reduced to 30,700 under fire-safety regulations. It was home to the Lotte Orions until their move to Sendai in 1972 and was notable for introducing to the NPB the first luxury boxes, covered bullpens and infield grass, as well as being the first stadium designed with integrated floodlight towers, earning it the nickname 'The Stadium of Light'. The stadium was demolished in 1977 and a multi-purpose facility for Arakawa residents was built on the site. It is not documented what that facility currently offers or whether any visitable trace of the original stadium remains.
