Church of Our Lady of the Incarnation
The Church of Our Lady of the Incarnation is a basilica-plan church with three naves, the central one wider than the side aisles. Outside, its four-tier tower stands about 50 metres tall, topped with a pyramidal spire and a weathervane shaped like a cherub representing Faith, along with the main doorway carved in ochre stone in Rococo style. Its history goes back to Marbella's main mosque, consecrated after the Reconquest in 1485, and it was canonically established in 1505. The current building was constructed between 1750 and 1755 and consecrated in 1767. Inside it houses a large Sol Mayor organ with 5,000 pipes of tin, copper and wood, built between 1972 and 1976 by organ masters Gabriel Blancafort and Juan Capella. It was also the setting for the funeral of Pablo Ráez in 2017, and its exterior appeared in the Netflix series Warrior Nun.
