Museum of Contemporary Spanish Engraving
The Museum of Contemporary Spanish Engraving is a municipal centre in the former Hospital Bazán, a 16th-century Renaissance building in Marbella's old town. Opened in 1992, its collection comprises around four thousand contemporary Spanish engraving prints, with works by Picasso, Miró, Dalí, Chillida, Tàpies, Pablo Serrano and Barceló, among others. The museum organises exhibitions, national engraving prizes, an engraving workshop, talks and conferences, and has a library specialising in art and graphic work (by appointment) and a shop selling catalogues and art books. It offers guided tours by appointment and introductory courses in engraving techniques. Admission is a flat rate of €5. Opening hours are Tuesday to Friday from 11:00 to 17:00 (last admission 30 minutes before closing), according to municipal information, though other sources give different hours; it is advisable to check with the museum. It is closed on 1 and 6 January, Good Friday, 11 June, 19 October, and 24, 25 and 31 December. During Marbella Fair week it opens only from 11:00 to 14:00. The museum is not wheelchair accessible.
