Maracanã Stadium
Football stadium in the Maracanã district, opened in 1950 for the World Cup. The final of that tournament was played here, in which Uruguay beat Brazil 2-1, the so-called Maracanazo. It was renovated for the 2014 World Cup, whose final it hosted, and for the 2016 Olympic Games, whose ceremonies it held. It is home to Flamengo and Fluminense. You can visit it on a tour or see a match; the atmosphere of the fans is part of the experience.
