Southport Gates

CultureVisit: ~15 minFree

Fortified gate at the southern end of Main Street, which gave access to the walled city of Gibraltar. Its origins go back to the 16th century, with the wall of Charles V, and it was modified in later periods. It marks the historic limit of the old town, and from it you head out towards Trafalgar Cemetery and the south of the city.
