Orthodox cathedral consecrated in 1883 to commemorate the victory over Napoleon in 1812. It was demolished in 1931 to build a Palace of the Soviets that was never built, and was rebuilt in the 1990s on the same site, beside the Moskva river. At about 103 metres high, it is one of the tallest Orthodox churches in the world. From its surroundings there are views towards the Kremlin.
