It was founded in 1949 and has occupied its current building since 1960. Highlights are the rooms on the Indus Valley civilisation, where the Dancing Girl of Mohenjo-daro, a small bronze figure, is kept, as well as sculptures, miniatures, manuscripts and textiles.
