European Solidarity Centre
CultureVisit: ~120 min
The European Solidarity Centre, opened in 2014 next to the Gdansk shipyards, is dedicated to the Solidarity trade union and the changes that led to the end of communism in Europe. Its steel-clad building, which looks like a rusty ship's hull, rises in front of the shipyard's historic gate. The permanent exhibition tells the story of the August 1980 strike and of the movement.
