Palace of the Dukes of Lafões (Palácio do Grilo)

Food & drinkVisit: ~120 min

Palace in the Beato district built after the 1755 earthquake by the second Duke of Lafões, founder of the Royal Academy of Sciences; only half of the original plan was built. Classified as of public interest, since 2022 it has operated as a restaurant, bar, museum and theatre: you dine among period salons with theatre, music and performance acts moving through the rooms, and the courtyard and gardens open with a reservation. It is one of the most talked-about venues in recent Lisbon, away from the Belém and Alfama circuits.
