Khaosan Road
LeisureVisit: ~90 min
A street in the Banglamphu district, next to the Grand Palace, which since the 1980s has become the great backpacker epicentre of Southeast Asia. It packs together hostels, bars with music, clothes stalls, tattoo parlours and street food, from pad thai to fried insects. By day it is a street of travel agencies and currency exchange, and at night it takes on its festive character, with plenty of noise and buzz.
