Granary Island, Wyspa Spichrzów, lies between the Motława river and the canal called the New Motława, opposite Gdansk's Main Town. For centuries it was a great centre of grain warehouses, with hundreds of brick granaries. Most of it was destroyed in 1945. Today historic remains and new buildings are combined, and from its bank you get a good view of the riverfront of Długie Pobrzeże.
