Valencia Cathedral
Valencia's Seu was founded on 23 June 1262 and built mostly between the 13th and 15th centuries, so it blends Romanesque, Valencian Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and Neoclassical styles. It measures about 94 metres long by 53 wide. On the outside, the highlights are the Miguelete, the bell tower begun in 1381 by Andreu Julià, whose top is reached by 203 stone steps, and the Gothic Puerta de los Apóstoles (Apostles' Door), with the twelve figures of the apostles and a rose window 6.45 metres in diameter. Every Thursday at midday the Water Tribunal (Tribunal de las Aguas), which administers irrigation rights for the huerta, meets in front of that door. Inside, the Holy Chalice chapel houses an agate cup that tradition identifies with the Holy Grail, donated by Alfonso V in 1437, and the museum brings together Renaissance painting by Paolo de San Leocadio and Vicente Macip, among others. It is in Ciutat Vella, next to Plaza de la Virgen.
