Koshien Stadium
Koshien Stadium is a historic baseball ground in Nishinomiya, near Kobe and Osaka. Opened in 1924, it was the largest stadium in Asia at the time and is the oldest in Japan. It is home to the Hanshin Tigers and the main venue for the national high-school baseball tournaments, known simply as 'Koshien'. The stadium retains distinctive features such as its ivy-covered walls, inspired by Wrigley Field, and a dirt infield. Visitors can attend professional baseball games or the high-school tournaments and experience the passionate atmosphere of Japanese fans. They can also see the plaque commemorating Babe Ruth's 1934 visit. The stadium is a two-minute walk from Koshien Station.
