Mijas Contemporary Art Centre (CAC Mijas)
CAC Mijas is at 28 Calle Málaga, in the old town. It shows works from the Remedios Medina Collection, more than 400 pieces that the managing company, Spanish Art Brokers, makes available to the centre. Most are by Pablo Picasso: engravings, lithographs, sculptures and ceramics. There are also around 125 works by Salvador Dalí and paintings by 19th-century artists who influenced both. The permanent exhibition brings together about 70 pieces, mostly by Picasso and Dalí, and some are temporarily withdrawn for restoration. Temporary exhibitions, free school workshops and talks on art and culture are also organised. The centre opened in 2013 in an old-town house renovated for this use, with rooms spread over two floors.
