Mijas Historical-Ethnological Museum (Casa Museo)
The museum occupies the former town hall, in Plaza de la Libertad, and recreates life in Mijas in times past with a focus on farming, crafts and food production. The permanent rooms are the Sala Campo and the Sala Sierra, together with reconstructed spaces: the olive oil mills, the wine cellar, the bakery, the carpenter's workshop, the loom and a traditional country house. Farming and fishing tools are on display, along with utensils for producing oil and wine. There is a room dedicated to Manuel Cortés Quero, with a replica of the room where El Topo de Mijas hid for thirty years. The building also has a projection room, a temporary exhibition room and a back courtyard where flamenco concerts are held in summer.
