Casa Museo de la Semana Santa Marinera
The Salvador Caurín Alarcón House Museum is devoted to the Semana Santa Marinera, the Holy Week celebrated in the seafront districts of El Grao, El Canyamelar and El Cabanyal. It is named after the man who was a mentor and for years president of its Junta Mayor. It brings together the artistic heritage of the brotherhoods, with sculptures by artists such as Mariano Benlliure, Bernardo Morales, Carlos Román, Vicente Salvador and Inocencio Cuesta. On display are garments, ornaments, banners, crosiers and publications from the processions, each piece with its information card, and a panel shows how the festival has evolved. A collection of costumes of biblical characters stands out, linked to the living scenes of the Passion, Death and Resurrection that are performed in this Holy Week. It also hosts temporary exhibitions, lectures, concerts and band competitions.
