Arashiyama Bamboo Grove
NatureVisit: ~45 min
A path among towering bamboo stalks in the Arashiyama district, west of Kyoto, next to Tenryū-ji temple. Light filters between the green stalks and the wind makes the canes creak. It is one of the most photographed images of Japan and so it fills up by mid-morning: early in the day you can walk calmly and the light is softer.
