Royal Stables of Córdoba
The Royal Stables are on Calle Caballerizas Reales, next to the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos. Their origin is linked to Philip II, who in 1568 promoted the breeding of the Andalusian horse here, and today they are the home of Córdoba Ecuestre. The visit is made with an audioguide, which is also available in the official app, and lets you see the facilities where the tradition of breeding and training pure Spanish horses is maintained. According to the timetable, training sessions are held in the mornings and afternoons which visitors can watch on certain days. From Wednesday to Saturday, at 20:00, the equestrian show 'Pasión y duende del caballo andaluz' is staged, and anyone with a ticket for it can take the morning visit free of charge. Besides the visits, the grounds host equestrian events throughout the year.
