Museum founded in 1923 that tells the history of New York from its Dutch origins to the present, with models, photography, fashion, everyday objects and toys. Since 1932 it has occupied a brick-and-stone Georgian Colonial Revival building on Fifth Avenue, at 103rd Street, at the northern end of Museum Mile and opposite Central Park.
