CultureVisit: ~120 min
Building designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and opened in 1959 on Fifth Avenue at 89th Street, opposite Central Park. Its helical rotunda, topped by a large skylight, is explored by a continuous ramp that spirals upwards. It houses modern and contemporary art, with a collection closely tied to abstraction and to artists such as Kandinsky. The building itself is considered a masterpiece of 20th-century architecture.
