Church in the Seu-Xerea district, next to Calle Trinquete de Caballeros, which tradition holds to be the oldest church in the city. It was built after the conquest of 1238 on land that James I gave to the Order of the Knights Hospitaller of St John, who set up their headquarters here with a hospital, residence and cemetery. The church has a single nave with a pointed barrel vault and a five-sided polygonal apse with a rib vault, as well as side chapels with paintings and reliefs, among them that of Santa Bárbara and the funerary chapel of Arnau de Romaní. In the north courtyard, remains of the hospital's civil and religious architecture are preserved. The full visit includes the medieval cemetery, with arcosolia and small Gothic funerary chapels of the 13th and 14th centuries, and a stretch of the spina of the Roman circus of Valentia.
