Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art
The Royal School is based at the Recreo de las Cadenas, a 19th-century building attributed to Charles Garnier whose name comes from the chains that adorn its main door. Inside are the covered and outdoor riding rings, the Museum of Equestrian Art, opened in 2005 and dedicated to the history of horsemanship from its origins to today, and the Carriage Museum, opened in 2002 in a winery from the early 19th century, which brings together carriages, harnesses, horses and equestrian costume. The show «How the Andalusian Horses Dance» is an equestrian ballet with Spanish music and 18th-century-style costumes, with six to eight choreographies combining classical dressage, working dressage (doma vaquera), carriage driving, work on foot and a final carousel. The full visit adds training sessions in the covered riding ring, the tack room, the palace salons, gardens and stables. It is on Avenida Duque de Abrantes, in Jerez.
