Palazzo Vecchio
CultureVisit: ~90 min
Florence's town hall for more than seven centuries. Arnolfo di Cambio began it around 1299 as the seat of the Republic's government, and in 1540 Cosimo I de' Medici made it his residence. Highlights include its 94-metre tower, the Hall of the Five Hundred decorated by Vasari and his team, and the Renaissance courtyards and rooms. It stands in Piazza della Signoria.
