Málaga Museum of Glass and Crystal
The Málaga Museum of Glass and Crystal is a decorative arts museum at Plazuela del Santísimo Cristo de la Sangre, 2, facing the Church of San Felipe Neri. It occupies the Posada de San Felipe Neri, an 18th-century building restored with about 900 m² of exhibition space, arranged around a central courtyard that gives access to three exhibition rooms and the main staircase. The collection, of about 3,000 pieces, comes from historian and restorer Gonzalo Fernández-Prieto and includes glass and crystal from various periods and cultures, from the 6th century BC to the present, with Phoenician, Roman, medieval, Byzantine, Persian, Venetian and Catalan pieces, alongside furniture, paintings and decorative objects. Visits are always guided, Tuesday to Sunday, with the last tour at 18:00. The museum is in the San Felipe Neri artisan quarter and aims to contribute to its regeneration. It is currently being expanded into an adjoining plot, where 17th-century pottery kilns have been found and will also be showcased.
