São Carlos National Theatre
CultureVisit: ~30 min
Opera house opened in 1793 on Rua Serpa Pinto, right in Chiado. It is a neoclassical building of Italian inspiration, with a sober façade and an Italian-style auditorium with horseshoe-shaped boxes. For centuries it has been Lisbon's great opera house and it still programmes opera and concerts.
