Convento do Carmo (ruins and Carmo Archaeological Museum)
CultureVisit: ~60 min
A Gothic convent founded in the late 14th century, whose church lost its roof in the 1755 earthquake. Its open-air Gothic arches are one of the most characteristic sights of Lisbon. Since 1864 it has housed the Carmo Archaeological Museum, with pieces from different periods. It stands on the Chiado hill, next to the Santa Justa Lift.
