The Bund
The Bund is the promenade beside the Huangpu River lined with the great buildings of the concession era: banks, customs houses and hotels in Neoclassical, Art Deco and Neo-Gothic styles, such as the former HSBC and the Customs House. Opposite rises the Lujiazui skyline. At dusk both banks light up and the promenade fills with people: it is the classic moment to see it, on foot or from one of the boats that cruise the river.
