Moncloa Palace

Moncloa Palace is the seat of the Presidency of the Government of Spain and the official residence of the Prime Minister. Located in the Moncloa-Aravaca district, the complex includes the historic palace, gardens and 16 administrative buildings. Since September 2018, the public has been able to visit the complex, including the Press Room, the Council Room and the main government buildings, provided the access requirements are met: being a Spanish citizen or resident in Spain, booking in advance, showing identification and leaving electronic devices at the entrance. The gardens, listed as a Site of Cultural Interest, date from the reign of Charles III and were restored by landscapers such as Javier Winthuysen and Cecilio Rodríguez. The interior holds works of art by artists such as Joan Miró, Eduardo Chillida and Antoni Tàpies, among others, and furniture from the Patrimonio Nacional collection. The visit offers a unique view of the centre of power of the Spanish state.
