The former Palacio de Comunicaciones, the work of Antonio Palacios and Joaquín Otamendi, opened in 1919 as the head office of the postal service and today houses Madrid's City Council and the CentroCentro cultural centre. Its appearance as a white cathedral facing the Cibeles Fountain makes it one of the most photographed buildings in the city. From its tower, the viewpoint offers views over Alcalá, Gran Vía and Paseo del Prado.
