Jara River
The Jara River is a short river in southern Spain that runs through the south of the province of Cádiz and flows out on the Atlantic side of Andalusia. It rises in the Fate, Saladavieja and Ojén mountain ranges, within Los Alcornocales Natural Park, in the municipality of Tarifa, and heads south-west for about 15 km to its mouth at Los Lances beach, in the Estrecho Natural Park. Rhododendrons and willows grow along its banks, mingling with the cork oak forests and the lush vegetation of the headwaters, and downstream these give way to a grove of oleanders and tamarisks.
