Port of Tarifa
The port of Tarifa is a port complex next to the town centre, divided into three areas: the passenger ferry terminal, the fishing port and the marina. The ferry terminal has ticket offices, toilets, customs offices and a café, and offers parking. Crossings run all year round from here to Tangier Ville, usually taking one hour, with up to 17 departures a day. In 2024 six autonomous reef monitoring structures (ARMS) were installed in the port to study the biodiversity of the Strait of Gibraltar and detect invasive species. The port is also a vantage point for watching maritime traffic and a place of passage for those travelling between Europe and Africa.
