A council house in the Allerton district where the McCartney family lived between 1955 and 1964. In its front room Paul McCartney and John Lennon rehearsed and wrote many of the Beatles’ first songs. The National Trust acquired it in 1995 and has recreated it with period furniture. It can only be visited on an organised tour.
