Palace of Navarre
The Palace of Navarre, seat of the Government of Navarre, is a 19th-century Neoclassical building located between the Plaza del Castillo and the Paseo de Sarasate. Inside, the Throne Room preserves Isabelline decoration with a gallery of 32 portraits of kings of Navarre, painted historical scenes and an allegory of Navarre on the ceiling. The Session Hall stands out for its oak coffered ceiling with heraldic motifs. The complex is completed by a garden visible from the railings on Avenida de San Ignacio, where a sequoia planted in 1856 and declared a natural monument stands. The rear façade, the work of José and Javier Yárnoz, features sculptures by Fructuoso Orduna.
