CMA CGM Tower
The CMA CGM Tower is a 145-metre skyscraper designed by Zaha Hadid, located in Marseille's Euroméditerranée business district. It is the city's tallest building and houses the head office of the CMA CGM shipping line. The building has 33 floors, 13 lifts and 64,000 m² of usable floor space. Inside it has a staff restaurant with 800 seats, an auditorium with 190 seats, a maritime museum, a gym and training rooms, though these facilities are mainly reserved for the company's 2,700 employees. Outside, facing the building, stands the monumental bronze sculpture 'The Genius of the Sea' by Carlo Sarrabezolles. On the 31st floor, the large boardroom is decorated with two gold-lacquered panels by Jean Dunand, made in 1935 for the ocean liner SS Normandie. General public access is not documented; the panoramic restaurant planned for the top floor was ultimately abandoned.
